Don’t Jump into the Quicksand with your Alienated Child. Stand Firm and Reach out Your Hand Instead. 

You have been traumatized and continue to be traumatized. But now what? Dr. Craig Childress does a great job of not only validating what you are experiencing, which helps us to normalize what we go through and make it less personal, but offers 9 ways to help us cope. The most poignant and illustrative sentence to me was that you child is in quicksand. You can’t jump in to save him. You must keep you feet firmly planted on the ground and extend your hand.  There will come a day when the courts, attorneys, and mental health professionals will lend a hand as well.
